My McGeough first appear in Lynn, MA (Essex County) City Directories in 1878.  Note spelling McGough. Spelling is corrected to McGeough in 1885. My father was insistent on the latter spelling.   Having very little family information and no family members living at the time I began my "search", the city directories provided me with a beginning.  Spelling, even within households, varies and changes continually through the years, most likely depending upon who was providing/recording the information.  I have identified all of the Lynn McGeough and their connection to my McGeough family.
